Requirements
The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is a statutory agency in the Defence portfolio that defends Australia against global threats and advances our national interests through the provision of foreign signals intelligence, cyber security & offensive cyber operations.
The System Engineer will be responsible for undertaking responsibilities to deliver a range of hosting platforms fit for customer use cases. The role will include stakeholder engagement to establish use cases, systems design, configuration management, orchestrated deployment, monitoring, system upgrade & sustainment. They will also provide architectural advice as a subject matter expert to guide customers on the best practice use of platforms.
Duties & Responsibilities (include, not limited to):
- Develop systems engineering documentation, system designs & systems maintenance plans & configuration management plans. Contribute to project plans ticketing systems & project timelines
- Deploy hosting platforms in a scalable & sustainable method. Control source code & maintain consistency in standards across the portfolio of platforms.
- Patch & upgrade existing hosting platforms to improve security standards & provide new feature to customers which are available in the wider industry
- Undertake stakeholder engagement to identify business needs. Share knowledge with stakeholders including giving architectural overviews, presentation & responses to requested architectural advice
- Work with industry partners under direction of the team lead to guide & integrate external packages into the environment
- Conduct system monitoring & UAT testing to forecast expansion & provide forewarning or rapid response to system failures
Essential Skills
- Ability to deploy hosting platforms in a scalable method
Desirable Skills
- Ability to patch a& upgrade existing hosting platforms to improve security standards
- Candidates require an AGSVA TSPV to perform the role. ASD will not sponsor candidates to upgrade their security clearances.
- Candidates must be willing to undergo ASD’s Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.
